Re: Wanted: Russian hand made AK 47 Switchblade
The one in this photo looks much more refined than the ones I have seen in the past.
Almost like a custom version.
The spring pulls the blade open?

Re: Wanted: Russian hand made AK 47 Switchblade
I'm not sure if they are leaf spring or coil spring fired, but it's my understanding that the spring on the spine doesn't have anything to do with firing the blade. It actually applies pressure to the lockback bar (also along the spine) that holds the blade open. There should be a "dial" piece on the bottom of the spring that can be twisted to adjust the amount of force applied to the lockback bar.Viking45 wrote:The spring pulls the blade open?

Yeah these are MUCH more refine then the 1 or 2 I have seen in the past. I haven't seen on of these since the glory days of BA.
Tanto might be able to find one.

So...can Fazool tell us where this picture came from?
Has anyone ever seen this version of this knife.
I have seen one of the other cruder looking ones, would like to have one too but the price on the one that I saw stopped me at the time.

I've been wanting one of these band Bill's recent thread has reawakened my interest, any more info on where one could find one of these types of knives at a reasonable and sane price (<$1000)

I have one of these blades. Trying to figure out how to put a picture on here. I got it from a buddy of mine. He told me he bought it back in the seventies but it was made in the sixties Wish I could figure out how to put a picture on here. I am on a smartphone and it does not give me the option. I would definitely be willing to let go of mine for a decent price. This one is in very good condition

That image according to tineye is from turnbull knives 2010. the website doesn't seem to exist anymore but I can find some knives by Ralph Turnbull. They seem to be high end customs.
Know this doesn't help, but that picture was interesting. Where did you get the pic?
