Teflon blades at SKM

Post by arthas »

Hi!

With a bit of delay but here's the announcement: black teflon blades are available in all 9" Italian Stiletto knives at SKM.

The black-teflon styles are three: standard, bayonet and kris.

Hey Arthas,

I have been reluctant to get a Teflon blade because it might scratch or wear. This is based on my experience with non-stick pans that eventually fail and need to be replaced.

How tough and wear resistant are these blades?

They will suffer wear but, they are easy to keep clean. The wear is most noticable near the pivot point. If you use the knife to cut food [even ocassionally] the cleanliness is worth it. Once it wears too much for food use, get another and use the first one for opening packages [with more knives] Tape will still not stick to it very much so it can "lead two lives" [food, then opener]
