buffalo or dark horn

Post by rumblefish »

Are buffalo and dark horn one in the same or different species of horn. I've got a nice 11"FB with buffalo handles, they seem dull compared to another FB with "dark horn" thats shinny. Is there a polish of some kind?

Simichrome (or similar) on a soft rag, used briskly. Then plain paste wax.
