Thanks for him :)
Yes it has style and this bowie blade shape has a swedge that you can't see well in the photos.
This is the first time I've seen this blade shape on a leverlock with this handle

Those knives usually open very fast, and have been referred to as the "silver bullet" model.

That first Maltese picklock made me go into a trance . .
I just stared at it for at least 2 minutes, dreaming about where it's been.

I love WWII rifles with black steel and checkered walnut grips, like a 1911 Colt. Gov.
That maltese and grip is amazing.

I had once mentioned to Walt (Latama LLC) about the vintage classic designs.
and the possibility or laser etched cross hatch.
It becomes problematic on a 3-d handle scale. The top is easy.
but most lasers are not 5 axis CNC. . .
You can get desktop lasers that will do what looks like an insert, on the top / face.
But it looks like those Mil-Spec plastic moulded things from 20 years ago.

Wonderful collection. . . .

Thank you for your kind message!
Yes the Maltese is incredible, he is no longer mine unfortunately I had to sell him.
The handle is made from ebony which has been squared (probably with a file as gunsmiths still do on hunting rifle ).
As for bringing back old switchblade designs that would be great, AGA campolin does it sometimes.
Perhaps squared with a laser is not possible but with a CNC and milling cutters it should be easily achievable I think. :)

Yet another new one :!:
OTF "Le Superoto" created in 1962 made in France by Douris-Chastel.
Really powerful spring, and a small mechanism at the top left, by pushing the lever you tighten the blade to remove the blade play that most otf have.

Very nice! I like the old-fashioned OTF blades. They're a refreshing departure from the Asian clones.

I believe that all "superoto" have this blade tensioner at the top left to avoid blade play when it's open.
The confusion may come from the fact that you thought it was a safety button to prevent accidental ejection of the blade ?
Because I thought it was safety too, until I saw this video on YouTube:

Love both the otfs posted .

The spanish otf I believe was contracted by Bonsa under their B&S brand and sold in Germany aswell as Spain ,your variant is one I have not seen till today ,really like it . 8)
The variant I have is marked Pat 79075 and here is another larger type shared by Tanto few years back .
I love the superoto otfs as the action is strong and silky , and the blade tightener locks them up solid when deployed ,good lookers aswell .There were also imitation stag variants of these otf knives and they had a few different manufacturers markings ,mine marked MF St etienne .

Thanks for the look at these and hope you are well.

Ian,

Both of those are SUPERB! I love the fluid lines of the OTF with the "curves".

The examples you have shown are exquisite!

Hello Ian, thank you for your message once again :)
The little Spanish OTF I couldn't tell you if it was produced by Bonsa B&S (Bontgen & Sabin?) but I would really be surprised.
I rather wonder if it is not the same company which produced the Spanish stiletto with imitation stag handle below in the photo.
There are indeed larger models like yours, which are said to come from Spain.
For "Le Superoto" the spring is really powerful indeed and this blade tensioner gives a real feeling of solidity!
Yes there is a version of the Superoto imitation stag which is very rare to find, congratulations on your find. MF is for the St Etienne factory, it did not produce this knife, it must surely have been a reseller.
Your OTF knife next to the Superoto is magnificent, who is the manufacturer? Tarry Levigne?
I've never seen one like yours.
I'm fine thank you, I hope you too!
Best regards
