"Generic" OTF spare parts?
Hi everyone!
Thanks for having me here on the forums!
I have a rather generic OTF switchblade that a friend of mine accidentally broke the internal mech inside that makes the switch extrude & retract the blade (a small piece of metal seems to have busted off as circled) Out of curiosity does anyone know where i may be able to get a replacment internal piece? This blade has sentimental value to me (my best mate from the states took it all around australia and new zealand before meeting up with me at a concert in melbourne, then i got it back to tasmania) so i would love to have her functioning again!
Thanks in advance!
J.

Perhaps Bill DeShivs could direct you to a source for replacement parts.

You want to try to find an identical knife for the parts you need to repair your knife. I don’t think you’ll be able to find replacement parts.

Try a search for A464 ejection retractable UT85 comb and screw accessories.
The vendor is Adventurer.

There's not way you would be able to fix that part and the only way to find a replacement is to buy a new one that is the exact model and take the part out and put it in yours.
Re: "Generic" OTF spare parts?
Maybe if you post pics of the outside of the handle scales someone will recognize it and know where to find another one.
But I can't help but wonder what the legalities are regarding importing a switchblade into Australia. That might be dicey.

Killgar is right. You just may be imprisoned for attempting in our attempt to obtain replacement parts for your knife. Austrailia is no longer a free country and buying replacement parts for your blade would likely be a crime.
Your best bet might be to quietly have a part fabricated for the unit.

Hey all! Thanks for all the speedy replies and warm welcomes! Yeah this blade is definitely a no no in Australia, i think this type is also not permitted where my friend lives in the states lol its more sentimental that anything so i dont really need it fixed persay, but it would be nice to have it operational, after checking out the aliexpress stuff im 99% sure that part will work so ill order that and post my success (in 3 months lol) thanks again everyone!

Re: "Generic" OTF spare parts?
You could buy a few real nice Microtechs for the cost of having that part made.
Re: "Generic" OTF spare parts?
I once had a cheap OTF that had that same part break. It actually broke within an hour of me getting it! In hindsight, it had really stiff action and I probably should have oiled it with some Rem or WD40. Might have helped loosen it up so I wasn’t putting so much pressure on that cheap zinc slide carriage part with the switch.
