My "grail" knife will soon be a realty!

Post by Fishtail Picklock »

Everyone that knows me at all knows about my father's 1938 Latama Fishtail Picklock that he carried in a holster along with a marlinspike with an adjustable end wrench silver soldered onto it.

Thanks to Bill DeShivs guidance, I have contracted Jeremy Kreis to recreate dad's 1938 10 3/4" Latama Fishtail picklock with Brazilian cow horn scales and a 4mm 1095 carbon steel. It will be an exact duplicate of father's blade. Jermy will begin the build on, or about August 15th. I have paid him in advance for the knife without any reservation.

My eternal thanks to Jeremy Kreis and Bill DeShivs.

I find myself on the verge of tears awaiting this knife. It will be as if dad were alive again.

That Scarperian reproduction is a beauty! I'm having this made so that I can carry it in an open-top friction leather sheath (with a basket weave pattern). This will be done in memory of my sainted father.

Mike that knife is a beauty. Does it have nice heft to it? That’s one of the things I like about Jeremy’s knives. I always wanted a shell puller. Might have him make one for me. What is the scales on yours. Can you post more pictures? What length is it?

Hey Thom, it’s about 9 inches and has a good heft to it… More than a regular stiletto but not too heavy. I asked Jeremy to find the nicest horn he could for the front and back scales.. The original is from Neal Punchcard’s book “Art of the Switchblade”

It’s a mess .. punks and provocateurs have taken over what was supposed to be peaceful protests… Shootings are getting worse every night… Had a two car shootout about eight houses down from our home last night. We have defunded some of the most critical police squads and it really is getting crazy.. my Mossberg is a constant companion

Can't believe they haven't brought the national guard in yet.
