IMCO knife
i have a switchblade that looks like a Latama pick-lock and red dot safety.11" long with horn handle stalleto blade reads IMCO-Italy.Does anyone what i have.

What you have is a very valuable early 1950's pick-lock, which was made by the same cutlers who made the Co.Ri.Ca.Ma knives. The craftsmanship on the IMCOs is superior to other pick-locks...I know, as have two 11" IMCOs. If you can post photos, we will have a better idea as to value. But bottom line- assuming the blade is full and the knife is in working condition, with nice cow horn scales...you have a rare and highly sought after vintage Italian stiletto on your hands. (Ps- if you haven't already, pick up a copy of the Switchblades Of Italy book....it is the authority on vintage pick-locks.)

It has some blade wear but is still probably worth $400+/-

IMCos are great and have a very important part of History regarding the banning of switchblades in the USA.
Unfortunately it looks like someone tried to grind the button flat.

Based upon the condition, I agree with the $400+ estimate. If you are looking to sell, your best bet would be www.sharperdeals.net.

I have heard that the IMCOs were imported to NY before the 1954 New York switchblade ban. I have read they were being imported around 1953. @ Henry Jones- I recall a lot of this info coming from Charles Cioffero....our resident switchblade historian.
