What is this little dent the other side of the sear hole, I’ve seen it on other Coricama knives ?

What is this little dent the other side of the sear hole, I’ve seen it on other Coricama knives ?

It’s simply the sear hole being drilled extra deep and almost all the way through. I’ve seen some where it looked like it was drilled about 98% through and then they peened back the steel to close it again

Actually a severe defect Joe and I'll dispose of it properly for you!... Actually, my newest little BO/BC has a tiny bump opposite the sear hole as well.

Puma and a few others use to put a dot in the blade to prove the RW hardness of the blade. Perhaps they did the same:

I don't think it is really anything else......The tester leaves the dot and proves the RW hardness.....

That makes sense too because it almost looks like it’s been drilled that side with a tiny countersink, I’ve seen the same mark on a fb members Coricama knife

Why do you think it’s the other side of the sear hole ?

Is it possible that the dent was put on the wrong side of the blade? It should’ve been on the other side indicating where the seat hole should be?

I’ve seen it on a few knives I suppose we will never know for sure

As MF said, it's just where the sear hole was drilled. Nothing exotic.

The Puma's are all on the back of the blade so as not to take away from the front look of the knife.

Since it is exactly opposite of the seer hole I doubt it is a a Rockwell hardness mark.
