Re: What happened to autoknife.com
The guy was a thief. Being in Canada getting autos to start a collection was hard so I used him 5-6 times and my CC was compromised twice and I knew it was him. I confronted him and he said his site was secure (BS). My friend ordered once and the same thing happened. I think he was selling CC #.
Re: What happened to autoknife.com
He had knives for sale on his site that weren't even his. He had 2 or 3 of mine.
Re: What happened to autoknife.com
Outrageous!!!!!!!!
He listed knives he didn’t own.
How many people did he burn? Hopefully he’s gone for good!!!

Re: What happened to autoknife.com
I remember the controversies surrounding him and the fireworks here on the forum. Not to be accusatory, but I think the comment of him stealing the name "autoknife" from Ken is spot on. Nothing like taking the name of a trusted and respected person and using it in hopes that people conflate the two and place their trust in him.

Who is autoknife now? Is it the bad guy or someone else?
Re: What happened to autoknife.com
Autoknife's name is Ken and he is one of the most reputable collectors.
Check out his site. These are generally not for sale.

Autoknife, sorry but you can understand why I was confused.

Re: What happened to autoknife.com
I remember his knives being priced at four times what I would ever be willing to pay.
But he had some nice knives.

No problem, it’s been going on forever (the confusion). I used to sell him knives years ago. I wasn’t aware that he was advertising knives that weren’t his. He seemed to like getting over on what he perceived as “stupid” people. It was my understanding that if you asked about a knife he would tell you the truth, but didn’t offer it otherwise on the converted manual knives. I personally haven’t had contact with him in maybe 10 years. Not sure what makes people do what they do, but converting manual knives to autos and passing them as genuine is terrible for our hobby.thom wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 2:47 amThanks for clearing that up for me. Re: What happened to autoknife.com
I hope those sites are gone for good. What I've seen happen a bunch of times is some non-collector would find some real great old knife and want to sell it. Then they would look the knife up and one of RS's sites would be the first thing to come up. Then they would get the idea that their knife was worth 50x what it was really worth. Then when a collector gave them a good offer, they would think it was not enough. So the collector wouldn't get the knife and the person who found it wouldn't make the sale.
Re: What happened to autoknife.com
Anyone know how to contact him? He had a couple new knives I would like to try to buy. Maybe on Facebook? I don’t do Facebook so I wouldn’t know. Let me know if you have a way to contact him.
Thanks

Re: What happened to autoknife.com
Really? After everything you have heard you still would give him business? To each his own I guess.
I guess if it's something you really want to do, he still has a contact page up. It still might work.

Also looks like there is an email addy on bottom of the page.
