Hubertus shellpuller Bill, I'm trying to create a shellpuller like yours, I'm using a needle file and the pin is in the way, to make things worse it was a short pin to begin with the majority on the leverside. I was hoping to tap it through when finished but this lifts the blade. What are they made ...

Removal of blade pin
Is removal of the blade pin a bad idea.... I can't file my bolsters flush without removing it, any tips really welcomed, I'm in a bit of trouble

What's best Bill?
Wax or shoe polish, the horn is very light brown and dry looking.It's as if the brown is wearing as I've handled it to work on ,most horn I have is wet looking possibly through handling.

Staining horn handles.
It's better to ask I thought before staining anything like this while still attached to the knife. Firstly are new hubertus still real horn? Is there a way to enhance dull horn,without removing the handles first? I have a hubertus but I'm a little disappointed in the horn just wanted it slightly dar...
