Re: WTB: AGA Sicilian of Due Buoi Thorn

I'm not sure I understand what you are looking for ... AGA Campolin and Due Buoi are two different companies. Mike I think the original subject line was meant to read "WTB: AGA Sicilian or Due Boi Thorn." The word "of" in the original subject line is incorrect. Of course everything is open to inter...

Re: Fakes

One additional thing on fakes... the top bolsters r more like pillows. They r not as well defined. That’s the first thing I look for.

That was always what I thought too. Then I came across an 8" er.

That's a great looking pair. Especially that 8" as it looks to be mint or very close to it. Most excellent!

What a great find. Love the front scale... true old school. Can you shoot a pic of the back scale?

Re: Finished one for me.

That's a really great looking knife. Scales are terrific. And I really like the coin edge liners. The coin edge liners strike me as not a usual feature for a German made knife. Mostly seen on French knives. As I don't collect German knives, am I wrong about that?

Re: Latama, Real or Fake.

Looks authentic to me. Latama stamps have had variations over the many years since the first one was produced. The Latama stamp on this knife is the same as one pictured in "Switchblades of Italy" on page 22. You have a very nice knife.

Re: 11" Antonio Contini

Me too Chris. A beauty. Corvus, I didn't notice the pin placement. I'll bet my horn had some twist or bowing hence the pins used to hold the scales down. Your pins are symmetric, probably nice flat horn. Just a guess. Hey Thom - If you look at Contini's knives, they almost always have more pins tha...
