Re: Signups for Rick Giroux Commemorative Knives
Barb, you'll find Maura (Angelo's wife) to be much more polite than my experiences with Sara B. She speaks (at least types) in pretty good English. Always very friendly and helpful in MY dealings with her about orders I've placed. She's always replied quickly to the "Contact" on their online store. ...

Certainly Barb...you efforts were appreciated. Sorry you had to endure so much negativity for such a positive cause. Thank you for trying!

Re: Commemorative Switch to Honor Rick Giroux
Over the last couple years, I inquired with Sara on the sale of a couple of pieces and she told me they sell to nobody but dealers. Nothing on the Frank Beltrame website was for sale (to me).

Re: Commemorative Switch to Honor Rick Giroux
I totally agree with Chris and Luke. I WOULD think that Frank B would make such a simple, paid for, request AND that the NS and red dot would certainly make this a special piece. Vintage red dots use to be actual, red plastic inserts. Today, they are round, red painted indentations. Wouldn't think s...

...Thanks Luke and Chris! The 3 (NS- Swivel Bolster & Red Dot) threw me off. I remember reading older posts that NS was too soft a material for use as swivel bolsters, but then you mentioned the transitionals. Got it now!

Re: Commemorative Switch to Honor Rick Giroux
The knife will be an FB classic, 11", have NS bolsters, dk horn scales, a red dot, and RMG over '59-'18 stamped on the tang. Okay all...just to show off my ignorance here: "Classic" suggests (to me), a swivel bolster. Nickel/Silver bolsters and red dot safety suggest (again, to me), a picklock. At ...

Re: My fathers knife.
Hi Neil, and welcome. Your Dad's old knife is pretty cool. I'm far from an expert on IDs, but appears to be an early 1950's picklock made in Maniago Italy. Possibly an 8" or 9"(?). Nickel/Silver bolsters, button & short throw safety, bayonet style blade grind, horn scales. The generic blade tang sta...

Re: Commemorative Switch to Honor Rick Giroux
if they're anywhere in the price range that those 150 piece limited editions are fetching, may probably be too much money. But, certainly a great thought (if the price were right).

Ahh...Dremel tool. God knows I could wipe the bolsters with a cloth and polish until the cows came home with no real results lol.
