Re: Stamp ID

Would this be considered the lower case "b"? https://i.imgur.com/dimSes2.jpg Oddly, has this stamp on back... https://i.imgur.com/cJiFgL6.jpg Yeah, I think that is the stamp I have seen on the slip-joint ones. Is that one a slip-joint? I never saw one with the Germany stamp but I think they were ma...

Re: Stamp ID

It's a Beltrame. Is that one a slip-joint or is the locking pin just not visible behind the bolster? I have seen a few Beltrame slip-joints but I think they had a lower case 'b' over Rostfrei.

Re: Whatizzit

That is weird. I think it is some kind of cap device. Did you try it on an American cap? And are European caps smaller? Could there be some kind of army ration cap of that size?

Re: Questions about the AGA Frosolone

Was it intended to be opened in a reverse grip of sorts? Looking at the placement of the button, I was wondering if that was the intent of the design. I think one of my first posts here was asking about the low button placement on Frosolones and some vintage French knives. I can't think of any othe...

Re: Some guys have all the luck

I agree someone inserted a replacement spring in behind what was left of the broken spring. I did the same thing as a teen...It worked but had this effect when closed.... That is exactly what is going on with that one. Or I suppose the spring could have broke and the top half fell behind the top of...

Lol, I think I am going to start calling messed up backsprings "backsprungs". Actually, I don't think the backspring is messed up on that one, I think someone replaced the kickspring incorrectly and it is pushing on the backspring when it is closed.

Re: Some guys have all the luck

I'm guessing that oddly specific Buy Now price was Ebay's recommendation. I wonder how they came up with that.

Re: A Question About Collecting Vintage Switchblades

If you go to any Youtube video about switchblades you see tons of comments, like half of them, about how people always wished they could find a knife like that but don't know how to get one.

Re: A Question About Collecting Vintage Switchblades

As long as the general public continues to vilify switchblades, and The Man says we shouldn't be able to own them, they will always be highly sought after by a small but dedicated base. However, if one day the normies all of the sudden realize that a fast opening pocket knife is not really any diffe...

Re: Has anyone ever played with one of these HK&S knives?

If you want to try to open it by smacking it against your leg you’d probably end up going to the ER Lol, I should have mentioned I keep a notebook in my side pocket that I am smacking it against. But on your's, is it completely impossible to fire it if you hold it upside down and press the button w...

Richard, can you see the bottom bolster pin inside the handle on that 17cm?

Re: Has anyone ever played with one of these HK&S knives?

Jeremy, those knives are extremely rare, HK&S stands for Heinrich Kauffman And Sons. Sal, how's it going? I am glad to find out that someone actually has one of these ones. Is your original one kind of awkward to fire with one hand (like upside down pressing the button with your index finger)? And ...

Has anyone ever played with one of these HK&S knives?

This HK&S knife is on pages 52-53 of The Art of the Switchblade book. It is a backspring o/c (I know that isn't technically a backspring on this model) that fires by pushing on the little button thing at the very bottom which pushes the lock back. I never saw one in real life so I made one based on ...

Did the species of cow that they got that horn from go extinct sometime in the early 60s?

Re: Big collection of USSR prison knife

Why are these knives called prison knives? What prison on earth would allow inmates to manufacture automatic knives? While those knives are definitely coming from Russia (or Ukraine at least) I agree that it seems unlikely that Russian prisoners would design knives that looked like that. Every pict...
