Re: A new Maniago

When was the last time you were able to find a Rizzuto for $10?
To be fair, when they were still being made, they weren't very expensive at all.

Of course, by that reasoning, you could call Detective Comics #27 a "ten cent comic book".

Re: Does anyone have a pic of a swinger with brass/wood?

That is awesome! I don't know if I'd pay $125 for it but I am definitely going to keep an eye on it. I was kind of hoping I'd come across something like that, but an auto. Kind of like a rare 11" FB with brass guards (by rare, of course I mean "probably nonexistent"). Even though that one isn't an a...

Re: How to close a Trapdoor

I think tape would lessen the impact, but the tip would poke through quickly and you would be back to metal - on - metal, the force needed to cock one of these is surprisingly great. Is firing it with the door shut, so the blade throws it out of the way, as bad for the tip as it looks? And what if ...

Re: How to close a Trapdoor

I've often wondered why they designed those trapdoor OTFs so you have to push metal onto the tip of the blade to close it. The only thing I can imagine is that they never intended it to be a collector's item when they were originally made. Like Rizzutos, they probably just intended them to be dime-s...

Re: Another Renzo Pascotto Gem - This time he went long!

I saw this last night but just glanced over the pics quickly and thought maybe it looked much larger than an 18" but then I thought naaah. I certainly would never have thought 42 inches. That's exactly what I thought when I saw the parts in the OP. At first I thought it was a 17.5" but then I thoug...

Re: Any News on the New Rizzuto's?

what if we designed new guards too?
I've often said that new guards should be designed (like lightning bolts or bones at slight opposing angles). It would be a fairly easy thing to do. I mean, compared to designing an entire knife it would be simple.

Re: Looking for 11" Beltrame Swinger *FOUND*

I found what I was looking for. Not only did I get the black FB, I got an off-white one to go with it. They are in great shape and I got them at an unbelievable deal from (another member here). I can't recommend FB swing guards enough. If you are looking for an excellent, high-quality swinger there ...

Re: Any News on the New Rizzuto's?

Hell, if Italy would chuck a bail on their swingers, I'd buy a few. There's an idea. I like bails because SBs look awesome when you can hang the upside down on the wall. Maybe if we start a petition Frank will have to listen to us. I mean, old Italian guys are always open to change, right? Although...

Re: Miniature Italian Picklock Stiletto aka Mini Switchblade

I like these little guys too; they always look nice at the end of a line starting at 17.5" and going down to 2.75" I just wish I could find one with brass and (fake) wood somewhere other than SKM. Not that I dislike SKM; it's just that $37 shipping on a $35 knife isn't an economical buy. I guess I a...

Excellent, it just so happens I've been offered $1 million (USD) for this knife. :D

But seriously, this one is long gone; I should have updated this one a month ago. I'll do that right now.

Re: FRANK B BLACKFINGER 777 ?

I grind the spring down to two-piece contour, and cut the slot for the "slip in" spring. There would be no need to change a scale pin when replacing a spring. I've been trying to find that knife but I just can't. And I actually forget which one it was; I'm starting to think it was one of the ones I...
