Re: Blade pictures,WOW!

JulesVane: Depends on what condition the knife is in when I receive it. Can be anything from plain commercial polishing paste like Maas (local Ace Hardware store) to green buffing compound on an 8" wheel to 4 micron diamond polish on a 1'Dremel buff. I cover the scales with blue painter's tape unti...

Re: Blade pictures,WOW!

Viking: Thanks for the compliment. As long as the metal is in decent shape I can usually get it cleaned up pretty well. A lot of the knives I collect are just "grubby" from poor handling. All I do is let the shiny out. :D DonC Don, if you should see this older post...please let me know how you "let...

Geez George. A 32 inch switchblade made it past airport security (or, lack there of)? I guess I worry too much.

Re: En-Lance-d Renzo Beltrame Ivory

Wow! That's amazing! I'd love to understand the procedure...I get the part about using a scribe, but how does one "scratch" into imitation ivory and get the artwork dark? Hey, 'ya never know. I might want to get a scribe and try my hand at scratching a stick figure into one of my own...lol. Beautifu...

Re: pick lock or swivel bolster somebody HHHELP

Hi George. Hard to believe a guy that says he's been selling them yet doesn't know the difference. He says he's even read different books and he can see no clear difference (definition)? Gee George, you haven't even seen a picture of it? Sounds shady, at best. Seems a pretty simple question to ask h...

Re: My new SKM 4.5" mini stiletto

The Diamond Batwing was the very last they had in stock. I can see they didn't exactly save the best for last. The "burrs" (I'll call them) on the swinguard and the "pin marks" (looks like someone took a thumbtack, stuck it in & pulled up a few times) on the button side scale were not bad enough for...

Re: My new SKM 4.5" mini stiletto

You can't win em all. I don't blame BladePlay. I am working on getting another Frank B though. Short story: I just received my very first purchase from BladePlay. Partly due to recommendations and availability. I bought an A.G.A. Diamond Batwing Swinguard in Buffalo Horn for $335. Been wanting it f...

Re: My new SKM 4.5" mini stiletto

Wow! I'm sorry to hear that. Hard to believe someone could of packed such a piece in a package and sent it to you in that condition. I'm not sure if you mentioned where you got it from. Hopefully inside the states so you can return it. Waiting on a new toy in the mail only to find out 'ya got a lemo...

Re: Beltrame

Reading these older threads: We toured Europe (Spain, Italy and France). Didn't see one switch at all in Italy (and I was looking!). Saw one in the window of a tiny shop in France. Waited around for over an hour for the shop to open up. When they finally opened, I took a closer look and it was, how ...

Re: I'll see your three Campolin's and raise you two diamonds

Wow! Beautiful! I just received my A.G.A. Campolin Diamond Batwing Swinguard 13" in buffalo horn today! It makes my 13" Frank B's (which are very nice themselves) look like toys. Now, I just got done reading Dave's post on how to photograph knives. I'll read it 20 times more. But honestly, you make ...
