Re: Anyone Here Collect WWII German Blades

That's an interesting HJ Dress Bayonet. I've never seen one like it. The HJ Diamond looks like the standard size in a youth knife, and that maker did manufacture youth knives. I wish we knew more about these variations.

Re: I see you enjoy both .25 and .32 Autos.

In my business we de-mill old evidence guns. Gets lots of .25 acp pistols. Usually Ravens, Jennings, Beretta, Colt, Sterling and other I don't recall now. The guns always have evidence tags on them with the offense. Some are murder and suicide. This cartridge will kill, and in the case of a suicide,...

Unknown Survival Knife: Any Ideas?

Anyone have an information on this knife. It is well made. Molded Polymer handle. Has File and Saw attachments that fit into the Pommel and are secured by the brass pin on the safety cord. Blade is marked "0005". Blade is 5.5". Sheath uses the 'Lift the Dot" fasteners like they use on canvas and old...

Re: Happy Cinco De Mayo

We have a short list of good Mexican restaurants here in Round Rock. But Edna(my wife) makes the best enchiladas and they are traditional. Sometimes even cooks in the clay pots and all.

Re: Anyone Here Collect WWII German Blades

That's a nice Navy dagger. I don't have a single one. They are fairly expensive today. The hanger straps for them are real unusual as well. Some of them will have Ivory handles. Usually they have cracked by now with the age. This is 2nd style Luftwaffe. Fairly common, manufactured by Alcoso. The nea...

Re: Anyone Here Collect WWII German Blades

How about a different Gravity Knife. This is a Weyersburg. It's a fairly good example only lite use. The thing with these knives is the back-spring will break if you play with them too much. I probably haven't closed this knife in 10 years or so. The spike is Luftwaffe proof marked. This knife was l...

Happy Cinco De Mayo

My wife is Mexican(She is a citizen now 35+ years) and she likes to go have a margarita after work today. She is so accepting of my blade and gun hobbies. Followed be to many shows, never a complaint. So I will take her out for something that is important to her.

All the best.

Anyone Here Collect WWII German Blades

As a kid growing up in Dutchess County NY, on the wall in my room hung a German Army Dagger. I had no idea it was an army dagger, just that it was cool. Turns out some distant relative gave it to my dad when he was young. I no longer have that dagger, but later in life when I wondered what it was, m...

Re: German Gravity Knife

Were any of the commercial Gravity Knives made to be disassembled and serviced by the user? Some of the German Issue pieces in WWII were take-downs. This is a take-down with an "RB" or code marked as the maker. The fittings and the blade are Blue finished like a firearm. Probably comes apart like th...

Re: German Gravity Knife

Hey Tom, In my Third Reich Collecting days, I would see the Gravity Knives like yours pictured. Knives of that style would be in the captured loot GI's took home. The Luftwaffe used the Gravity Knife as I pictured, but it was also used by other services as a general utility knife. I would Imagine so...

Re: German Gravity Knife

That is a very nice Gravity Knife, and priced well. I my life prior to Stilettos, I collected WWII German Blades. Here is an SMF Luftwaffe Gravity knife in my collection. The lanyard is original, and yup, it is Luftwaffe proofed similar to the knife. Crazy Germans marked everything. Hope you like it...

Re: Interesting Article

That hilt shown on the far right looks to have had something engraved in the center depression. Like maybe it is an Ulfberht which were exceptional swords.

Re: What would you do?

I've had internet businesses since 1998. In 2005 I had an aortic aneurysm, unplanned departure from my business by all means. Then 2 more weeks of complications. Was thinking it would be 1 week, not almost a month. Some folks who made purchases during the time were taking steps to recoup their money...

Hubertus Springer: How old?

Hello, Anyone have an idea how old this knife is. Had it maybe 10 years and the condition hasn't changed. I don't clean relics at all. It was in a box of military items I purchased. The other stuff (medals, etc.)were post war and the individual was stationed in Germany. It is tightly sprung and is v...
