Re: AKC STILLETTOS ARE THEY ANYGOOD.?
Yes John. I guess I think of a Stiletto to mean the traditional/classic design. When I see the traditional/classic stiletto design on the Bay stamped AKC, I just skip it. I'm afraid I just don't have the experienced eye in that case. Like I mentioned, the Asian makers stamp them all AKC and I've nev...

Re: AKC STILLETTOS ARE THEY ANYGOOD.?
Was thinking about getting a akc 9" stiletto switchblade does anyone have any experience with these.? I'd actually like to SEE a 9" AKC Stiletto. I've seen plenty that are pure Asian as they mark every "stiletto" they produce AKC. I've seen AKC Swingers, Leverlocks, Bill's Leverletto, Shellpuller L...

Re: Pick Lock Pat Havlin
Super nice pair you've found Jay! When confronted with the Nickel/Silver or Brass decision, I often go for Nickel/Silver. But, I like the way Pat Havlin combined the Brass bolsters with the Nickel/Silver button and safety. It looks really good. I always second guess my choice between the 2 materials.

Re: AGA Campolin Zero Dagger Leverlock
It's truly a beautiful knife you have Corvus (one of many beauties you have). AIK does a real nice job with the custom work. I believe the owner's (Barry's) Son does the customizations. Really nice!

Re: Walt's 23cm Picture Thread
Availability: Walt had mentioned last year that the 9" would be available in April/May of 2018. Of course, that projected date came and left. It wasn't until I just by chance, saw a few become available on PVK, that I even knew they were. I wrote Walt about it and he mentioned that he was short hand...

Re: Walt's 23cm Picture Thread
I placed them side by side and they appear identical. The longer/harder I look for differences, the more my eyes can deceive me on the tiniest variations in thickness. I believe Walt has advertised the blades as "new half grinds", but must be the "new" was from years ago new. All very fine pieces. S...

Re: '50's B. Svoboda Picklock-Kriss
Appears to be like new from the pictures. That one probably set you back a few. Sammy...it appears that they all do anymore. I started collecting and was happy with the Beltrame family pieces. Then, more quality and the vintage pieces took over my mind AND my wallet. It's one heck of a hobby, and I...

Re: Hate that it’s come to this but I’m getting desperate
Glad you found at least part of your search. Modern swinguards are certainly a limited item. Seems either a 13" A.G.A. Campolin, a 9" AKC or an 11" Frank Beltrame is all that's available from the Italian market. To acquire anything less than a 9", is finding something more "vintage" and un-stamped b...

Re: Walt's flat guard vs. regular
I actually thought the original question was whether a Walt's Flatguard was better than a Walt's Classic stiletto. Which ARE thicker liners, nickel/silver bolsters and 5mm blades and backsprings. I don't think there was ever a doubt that a Walt's Flatguard was better than a "common" 3mm Italian stil...

Cool Thom! The prices weren't bad back in '07- '08. Were they the last years Walt's Flatguard Picklocks were available?thom wrote:Thanks John, JV. I was just looking on internet and saw this:
