Re: EDC.....What Common Scale Material Holds Up Best?

Micarta is your best choice. The plastics are susceptible to the fossil carbon based oils and so forth. You never know what you will use it for. I picked up a nice micarta scaled stilleto from Angelo Campolin at Blade - it is in my garage and does a nice job of opening all packages, boxes and letter...

Re: Movie Switchblades

Yes, just saw that. I did search twice for Bad Ass but nothing came up. Oh, well, just confirms I am really technically challenged. Still a great movie by Mr. Trejo!

Re: Movie Switchblades

Time to bring this to the top. Just watched Danny Trejo's 2012 Oscar contender, BAD ASS. Pretty sure there is an automatic in the movie, but I already mailed it back to Netflix without noting which scene.

Re: Movie Switchblades

Don't know if balisongs count, but Hell Ride, produced by Quentin Tarentino, 2008 has some good ones. Maybe one switch, but can't tell for sure. And, Eric Balfour kick starts his old Indian on the left side, huh?

Re: Movie Switchblades

Just watched Expendables for the umpteenth time. One of my all time favorites, both senseful and senseless violence. Mickey Rourke and Sly Stallone are great! I think there are more than two pushbuttons in the movie - guess i need to watch it again

Re: unhappy

Likewise, never had a problem with Josh. First met him when he started out, with a table at the NCCA Shows in New England; he was easy to deal with. He has a nice selection of many brands, some custom stuff also.

Re: Brass vs Steel bolsters?

Supply and demand also dictates between brass and steel. During World War II, brass was not available, except for certain industries supplying the war effort. Most knifes produced for the military use steel, not brass. Look at the TL-29 electrician knife, made for Govt issue and they have steel line...

Re: Movie Switchblades

Watched "White Irish Drinkers" (2010) last night. OTF switch is used in the middle of the movie when two buddies start beefing. Then at the end of the movie, the older Leary brother gets the wrong end of it. Good photos of the knife in the final scene - not a Microtech that I could tell.
