I think it is beautiful.................BTW, I was competing for that one!
If I could get one without the nail nick, I'd send in an order right now!
Congrats - it's a beautiful piece.

Re: Heads up swingguard collectors
I would be embarrassed to tell a non-knife collector how much I've spent. Any reasonable person would probably think I should have my head examined. - I think the real reason people are cryptic about how much they spend on knives is in case it gets back to their wives. I don't think you could be an...

Re: Heads up swingguard collectors
I 100% agree that "value" - just like beauty - is in the eye of the beholder, especially when it comes to collector-type knives like these. It's not about function or utility. If you try to find one of the Walt's flatguards, you'll find quickly that they are sold out on his site and generally hard t...

Re: Heads up swingguard collectors
Ivano - I would say the same as TexasRed - thank you for producing these collector pieces and for visiting the forum to answer questions and provide us with information! I would have never thought I could correspond with the actual maker of these amazing knives! I understand these knives are individ...

Re: Heads up swingguard collectors
Ivano -
Thank you for visiting the site!
I'm sure I will add a couple of these new swing guards to my collection as soon as they are up on Walt's site.
Do you think the flatguard or swing guard will be produced with a traditional bayonet blade?

Re: Heads up swingguard collectors
It'd be hard to argue that Walt's knives aren't sold at a premium. However, as a collector, I will pay the premium for buying from him for a number of reasons. The 2 biggest reasons: One, I can see pictures of the actual knife I will be purchasing! That is worth a lot to me. Pictures can show the kn...

Re: Frank B. 11-inch picklock.
I'm curious about what Thom asked, too. Looks like a brand new manufacture based on what looks like nickel bolsters, extended lock tab and an oval hole in the blade.
It looks like a really cool piece...............having to think about it myself.

I'm a huge picklock fan, too. Sorry, I don't have any I want to part with but thanks for sharing the great news that Walt will have some new inventory in a couple of weeks!

Re: Fair Asking Price for Switchblades?
If you have any picklocks with a bayonet blade and b/w horn I may be your guy!
Also, I've been looking for a good swing guard in similar horn with a bayo blade, too.

Re: Newest addition to my collection - Walt's Latama picklock
Thom, The Latama with the flush red dot is one that I assembled for Walt. I engraved the tang stamp, inlaid the red dot, and "threaded" the rear bolsters. Bill, thanks I did post it a few years ago when I bought it. I complimented you on the quality of your work. It is a super nice knife. Really co...

I feel like you are a lucky person to find such nice survivor examples. I would lose my mind if I found those!
