Re: Your oldest Latama?

Here's another yellow one Eric, just round eared. Latama in a box. ...That's another one I was debating on my oldest Allen, as I think I've read the Latama in the box stamp was "first production". Not sure if that's true or not. I've got another vintage Latama that has tabbed brackets (no D stamp),...

Re: Your oldest Latama?

I had to pick one of two as my oldest, not sure which came first. But, I'll choose this 8" Flatguard Picklock I believe from the late 1940's...

Re: 13" Mauro Mario

Thanks Jeff and Platonic! I'm not positive, but I think the U.S. had them stamp them with the Country of origin, or makers stamp or importers stamp. One thing I've recently seen in a group of collectors actually located in Italy, is that they don't seem to collect (or care) about tang stamps much, b...

Great shellpuller lineup Chris !
Thanks Mike! Someday, I'll find the right/vintage German Shell Puller (by "right", I mean that I can find AND afford! lol). But, it's Italian for now.

Re: Jndiana Extra

Thanks for the replies and info Bill, Terry & Jim! Terry, yours was the only one I saw pics of. It was mentioned that yours was 7”. I’m wondering if your Jndiana stamp had the “Extra” underneath? Maybe all the Jndiana stamps did. I’m just wondering why this one is 8” instead of 7”. Much like Bill’s ...

Jndiana was a cutlery consortium of makers. A broker in Maniago, Italy.
Thanks Bill! Any idea when this knife was produced? It was advertised as 1960’s. Is that possible?

Jndiana Extra

Trying to search the forums on this Jndiana Extra shell puller, the only other post I could find was Terry's with his quite some time ago. Seeing a few conversations about them, I expected it to be 7", but this one is 8" (without the bale). Is that what the "extra" is in the stamp, a larger size? I ...

Re: 13" Mauro Mario

Thanks Jim! Through Thom, I got to speak with Tydy quite a few times and probably got a half dozen nice knives from him. He’s a great guy and has been good to me (and I’m sure Thom would agree). He does check into this forum and sent me lots of info during the Oreste DiBon debates lol.

Thanks Chris. I don't mean to but in on your thread.
Not at all Jeff, exactly where I'd like to see as many as we can! You didn't mention the size of yours. Interesting about the shorter bottom bolster. Yours does seem shorter all the way around. Is it an 8" or less?

13" Mauro Mario

Lots of really nice 13" picklocks posted lately! Here's a 13" Mauro Mario picklock that I was fortunate to acquire from tydy. (Thanks again tydy!). I think the horn is pretty special... https://i.imgur.com/OfHUlKM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6SoAzO0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YKEghEa.jpg https://i.imgur.co...
