Re: McCain Speaks Up

I'm not an Obama supporter, but Grandpa Munster and Mrs. Teabag had their chance & couldn't get it done, so he's still a little sore about it. That old man needs to fix himself a bowl of oatmeal & go take a nap somewhere.

Re: BIRD DRAMA pt II

the hawk's not a Sparrow hawk, it's either a Sharp Shinned or a Coopers. A full grown Sparrow hawk is only 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the hawk in the pic. Sharpies and Coopers favorite meals are birds on the wing. I've got a large feeding station in the front yard, this time of year it's not uncommon to...

Re: Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower

Truman really was the MAN, and my personal hero. If he hadn't have made the decision to drop the big ones on Hiroshima & Nagasaki my Dad and thousands of other soldiers would have been involved in a very bloody invasion similar to D-Day. The best part was, Truman told Japan that if they didn't surre...

excellent information, I knew I asked the right person. I have been following your posts for 6 years now, you are truly a fountain of knowledge. I'll run a couple bricks of ammo thru it & see what happens.

Thanks again,

S & W MP-15-22

Mr Vagrant, I just bought one of these rifles. AR-15 lookalike, except 22LR w/ 25 rnd. clip. Problem is that I ran a hundred rounds thru it & three failed to eject. Not exactly what I expected for 500.00. I was shooting CCI's. Are there any other brands of LR that may work better? Or do you think th...

Re: upstate ny coyote

I've always said the only good one is a dead one, I don't see them much around the house here in Pa. , but last year I bought a place in N. Florida that borders a 35,000 cattle ranch & I've had the opportunity to get up close & personal with them. They kinda grew on me, & they really are fascinating...

them skinny little hoof paddles are close to worthless, it's the incredible amount of buoyancy provided by their hair. If you've ever messed with hand tied bass poppers for a fly rod, just try to push one under water, they float like a cork.

Re: But What ?

it appears to be the work of a Pileated Woodpecker. Many times I've seen them on
the ground destroying rotten logs, throwin off chips the size of your palm. If they are
around, you'll hear them, they sound like a freakin jungle bird, plus they are close to
the size of a crow.

Re: Car wax?

Always best to start out light. Go with Mothers carnauba cleaner wax, by hand. If'n she
don't respond, go to a very mild polish, again by hand. As a last resort, hit her with the
orbital. I've got a black late model 'vette and unfortunately, waxing & detailing is something
I have become very good at.

Re: WWII German Paratrooper score

Hey JB, before you start surgery on it, you might want to talk to Tom Wittman @ Wittman Militaria/ Moorestown, NJ. he's one of the top 2 or 3 guys in the country when it comes to third reich edged weapons. he may have some period parts to put back in her, or know someone who does. Plus he's a decent...

for a pure click, it's the Godson

for a slow metallic slide it's a Wor-Tac

for an unique clunk sound, it's my large Hubie slimline

last but not least, I've always like the "pop" of a Mikov.

regardless, they are all a most wonderful sound.

I remember when attending various unsavory civic functions circa 72-74, when the Wheels of Soul MC pulled in, 60 bikes. 55 of them chopped Honda 750/ 4's. Friendly bunch of chaps. I can tell you for a fact the engine was almost bombproof. You could run it hard & put it away wet & it never smoked or ...
