Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Aaand here it is. Very happy with it. Just as I had hoped. All business and practical. Not as much fun as a swing guard, but that's not what I bought it for. Very similar to my Tenet. Do the non-auto versions have a flipper, or a thumb stud?

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

John, this one was not much more than yours was. It cost $44. That was the website price and I found a coupon code that got me free priority shipping and they didn't charge sales tax so that was my total cost. It did come in a box shaped like an AK mag just like in Terry's pic.

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Terry I have a few knives now with D2 blades and my up -til -now EDC is one of them - a Steel Will Tenet. I haven't yet encountered one of my blades I couldn't put a decent edge on with my diamond stone 400/1000. The two Guardsmen I recently got are also D2 blades, but haven't required any attention...

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

John, yours looks pretty similar to the one I'm anticipating. The only differences are the blade on mine is unserrated and bead blasted instead of black.

Re: Boker Kalashnikov

Update: according to tracking, my knife is waiting for me on my front porch. Just over 48 hours from online order to delivery from Utah to Kentucky. Hat's off to BladeOps

Re: Forgotten auto

Sounds like a good idea, Terry. This one would definitely be my cheapest, followed by that Dalton Cupid clone I shared in a thread called "one last OTF".

Re: "Tactical" swing guards?

Ian, I preferred the drop point myself at first, but the tanto is really growing on me despite the handle being about 1/2"(13mm) longer than the one on the drop point, which throws the ratio off. They both seem pretty robust and the mechanics are breaking in nicely. I'll mention again how very sharp...

Re: Forgotten auto

This one works great. It's got a very strong spring. I have had to replace a screw or two which must have been due to them not being well tightened to begin with because I never used or carried it, just opened and closed it several times. I've never bothered to sharpen it.

Jim have you had any instances of it opening in your pocket?

Steel Will Tenet

This has been my EDC for the last four years or so. Bronze washer pivot, not quite assisted opening but rarely requires more than flipping the fin, especially if pointed downward . D2 steel, very businesslike, handy, practical, and tough.

Forgotten auto

I've had this piece for many years. It was given to me by my father in law. Never cared a whole lot for it but now I'm curious if anyone knows anything about it. "Super Knife USA" is stamped on the blade but I seriously doubt it's anything but Asian, most likely Chinese made. Coil spring fired, faux...
