Re: Homemade scales for knife

Not bad! I’m looking to make some custom scales out of a spare hickory hammer handle for my next project!

Isn't that a different knife from your original post?
No, that’s the knife from the original post. I fixed it. As I said, I didn’t bother with trying to put the bail back on or making a new one.

Re: Slip Joint Repair

Here’s the completed repair. All the parts work properly except for the little scissors. Having trouble getting that part to open correctly. Maybe I need to oil it up and tap the rivets a little more. But my main goal was to get the main blade working and that part was a success. The knife polished ...

Re: Slip Joint Repair

After a little tweaking here and there with the Dremel, I finally got my new pivot in! I’ve tested it and the main blade opens and closes perfectly. I’m going to do a little more sanding and hammering when the Sun comes up. It was late and I didn’t want to keep my neighbors up (the joys of living in...

Boker Kalashnikov “Dessert Warrior”

https://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Dessert-Warrior-Kalashnikov--108010 This one had me rolling on the floor when I first saw it!   Did any of you get this one? Looks like they’re sold out. If Homer Simpson carried an auto, this is probably what it would look like! LOL!

Re: Slip Joint Repair

Since I removed the pivot pin, I noticed it was bent so I’m quite certain that’s what was causing the problem. I’m going to carefully file a little material off the inner sides of the back springs with my Dremel so when I get my new pivot in and everything lined up it can fit tight. I’ll probably ma...

My All Black Valor Balisong

Scored this baby for $40. It looks a little like a Jaguar bali with the handle pattern. I take it this one is from the 1980s? It’s definitely seen some use in its day as you can tell. I absolutely love it though and would never part with it.

Re: Slip Joint Repair

I got the pivot pin out! I’m going to put a new pin it. First I got to clean it up a bit. I’m going to polish the blades with a little Flitz, flush the dirt out of the liners, oil everything up, and make a new bail for it as that broke when I was removing it. I’ll post the finished product when I’m ...

Slip Joint Repair

I got this old Japanese slip joint fish knife the other day. For some reason the main blade doesn’t snap in place when you open it and when you do it’s separating the liners from the back spring for some reason. I’ve tried hammering the pivot down when it’s in the open position but even that doesn’t...

PIC Japan Manual “Toggle Switch Lock” Stiletto

I don’t think I’ve ever seen another one like this. It’s a manual swinguard stiletto from Japan and to unlock it you push this front “toggle switch” to the left which pushes the backspring up allowing you to close the knife. What does PIC stand for? Is the “P” by any chance Parker as in Parker Cutle...

Re: Mini Japanese Lockback Stilettos

They are from the 1970s to early 1980s. Valor was a FL importer of many Japan knives back then, These were often sold by Westbury Sales in NY, and the Len Company in NY. They are sometimes called the " one cent stiletto" because there was an AD that ran for years saying buy one and get a second one...

Mini Japanese Lockback Stilettos

Picked up these two little mini manual Japanese lockback stilettos from an antique shop today. One of them is from Valor. What year do you reckon these are from? I got one for just $3 and the other for $6. They look a little bit like the Rizzutos. They’re little guys but they’re probably the closest...

Re: Blade City

Got my three knife mystery set and free knife today. I actually didn’t get anything I already had which was nice. I got four assisted openers which were as follows: two 13 inch Viper Tec stilettos (one with a rainbow finish blade and the other tactical black), an all black Viper Tec tactical folder ...
