Fix or return Bargeon?

I have a medium size Bargeon (9" counting the bail) that arrived with a broken spring. I was hoping I could get a sense of what it would cost to get it fixed. I have the option to return, but I got an okay price because the blade is a bit scratched (and I'm already a bit attached), so I can't help b...

Re: My 16cm knives

Really cool, portlandmike! I dig ’em! I’ve never seen the lockbacks before and would love to know more. What are they, if you don’t mind me asking?

The swedge together with the fulcrum all shined up like that make this extra fun to look at. It’s a really cool knife. Thanks for posting!

Re: Various Fish

Thanks for posting. These are neat looking. I like them all a lot, but the one dead center stands out in a cool way. So does the green one. Great stuff!

Re: A few German leverlocks

‘Liner coining,’ that’s neat. I haven’t seen it or at least haven’t noticed it anywhere before. I love how it only runs along the scales but is smooth against the bolsters. It gives a really cool effect, striking but not overboard.

Re: A few German leverlocks

The spine on that one is beautiful, Bill! Is that filing on the liners, I’m guessing? The colors and textures come together perfectly, there. It’s hard to look away.

Re: Opinions of Omerta 11" Picklock knives.

If you can find one made by Straydog you should get it if you're looking for one. He does some really nice work! Thank you, Sammy the Blade! The two I saw of his were cool modern twists on the original design while I'm looking for something more traditional. If I can find one by him made more like ...

Re: Opinions of Omerta 11" Picklock knives.

I see. Someone somewhere is selling "AGA Campolin" ring-pull, automatics that are patterned after the old "Hecho In Mexico" picklocks that were somewhat blocky and seems to have the constitution of a 1946, Dodge Flathead in-line six engine. While appearing a bit crude, they were well sorted out, re...

Re: Movie Switchblades

Three years after The Outsiders sparked my fascination with switchblades, 1986’s The Hitcher , starring Rutger Hauer and The Outsiders ’ C. Thomas Howell, mesmerized me with this Super-Automatic. It was featured pretty prominently in the film. Movie magic (or my imagination) made it seem like a nice...
