Re: My First Latama
Awesome looking knife. I'll have to do more reading before I can follow the some of the conversation though. Not familiar with all the terminology yet.

Re: Coricama info wanted
The knife is a later one that probably came from South America. That seems to be where most of the stainless models were sold. Older models did not use a plated steel button, and usually had the safety dot inlaid with plastic, rather than painted. Probably early 1960s. Handle is stag. Looks like a ...

Re: 8" Coricama
Thanks JulesVane for the info. Yes I agree it seems when it comes to collecting anything old, the field is always split between those that clean and those that do not. I've already been told mine has lost some value due to it being sharpened which left some scratch patterns. Here is a pic, in person...

Re: Coricama info wanted
Yeah unfortunately that's the way I got it, in person the blade does not look that bad. It seems the camera picks up every minor scratch from the sharpening and accentuates it making it look worse than it truly is.

Re: 8" Coricama
Very nice knife. I don't mean to hijack your thread so I apologize in advance but I have a Coricama very similar to yours but with different handles. But what made me pause is to ask does it take away from the value to clean an old knife ? The comments made here seem to insinuate that's the case. I ...

Coricama info wanted
Hello I came across this knife at a yard sale and want to find out more about it. Maybe get a better idea of how old it is? I know it's a Coricama Picklock red dot probably from the 50's, is there a way to narrow down the date? Also can anyone confirm what the handle is made from? It looks a lot lik...
