Re: Note to self....
Just posted my first effort in Blade Pictures. It was quite the learning experience. I took the knife apart numerous times trying to get the button to work correctly. Then a few more times trying to get a wood that was hard enough to hold up to the stress of pressing the button. Then I had some prob...

First Knife Rework Completed
So I purchased three automatic knives that needed work. Two needed to have new scales made and one will need a new spring. So I took apart the first knife that needed new scales and decided to use zebrawood for the scales. I made them twice, both times they broke during use so I decided against usin...

Re: Note to self....
The zebrawood scales were a bust. The grain direction was running across the scale and made them weaker than I would have imagined. Two different sets cracked and broke during testing. If the grain had been running lengthwise I think they would have been stronger. Kind of a shame, I really liked the...

Re: Where to buy stiletto parts?
Thanks. I saw that one earlier but I'm not sure the price is right for a unique fixer upper opportunity.

Re: Note to self....
I'll post some photos when I'm finished with the knife. I'm working on some zebrawood scales for it. It's my first knife repair and while it's far from perfect, it's actually coming along nicely.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes, I will.
On the plus side the bolsters are solidly attached.

Note to self....
Propane torches have a flame that's almost invisible. When soldering bolsters on keep your fingers out of the flame! (Gotta love real life lessons).

Re: Question for Bill DeShivs
Thanks Sammy!
I see that Mikov also has Leverletto kits on their site which are fairly reasonable. By the time I win the auction and pay the shipping I could probably by a new one that works perfectly from some other source.

Re: Question for Bill DeShivs
There's one posted in the SD auction with a weak spring. It's been posted previously. Seems like a decent deal though I'm not sure about the weak spring. Here's the link: http://www.sharperdeals.net/index.php?module=listings&controller=listing&action=details&id=119375&name=leverletto-weak-spring-sol...

Question for Bill DeShivs
Hi Bill,
I keep seeing Leverlettos in some of the online auctions. I know there's some replicas out there. Is there an easy way to determine whether it's a real or whether it's a copy?
Thanks.

Re: Where to buy stiletto parts?
Yes Marco, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.
Send me a PM and let me know what you want for them (if you're interested in selling).
Thanks!

Knife Liners
Good Morning! I disassembled a damaged switchblade a few days ago. I noticed that that the liner that has the switch on it is different than that other one (there are no bolster "wings" on it). Seems like the liners should be the same. Should I make a new liner? Or is this somewhat normal? https://i...
