Re: My daggers

Twobit Not sure what the sheath is crafted from Luke ,definitely not a croc ,more likely camel or goat skin. Dont think they are brave enough to skin hippos ,crazy beasts . :) Its an unusual combat knife for sure ,not seen many come up for aale but its really well made and carbon bladed ,could be ma...

Re: My daggers

TMD

I believe it is an Egyptian commando dagger ,probably from the 60s or 70s but I cant find much about it .
It came complete with bloody sheath and is quite wide for a combat knife ,more like a spear tip .than a dagger .

Heres some better images of it .

Really love the scale materials on all of them ,a knife made by your own hand makes it that bit extra special ,wish I had that talent .
Thanks so much for sharing your endeavours mate ,has brightned up a rainy English morning while im having a coffee .

Re: Abalone How Do They Do It

Does the same apply to mother of pearl ?
I have a couple of old victorian and Edwardian fruit knives and it looks like 1 solid piece .

Bill I would name and engrave it the "Phuk U bak " and also a hand giving the middle finger.

Got to keep up these cultural relations . :)

Re: tang stamp "6"

porkchop I have also pondered over the number stamps on italians . I have a knife marked 2 ,seen a stag stamped 4 and now your examples are marked 6. I wondered if it was a mark to denote scale material for a particular knife . Are your scales materials the same on your two examples ? Can you post a...

Re: Switchblade Identification help INOX

LaneLander Hope I have understood this correctly ,apologies if not . If the knife just fires open without pressing the button ,the sear pin could be badly worn and not fitting the hole properly . However it could be a few things ,rocker assembly moved or twisted ,dirt in the blade hole where the pin...

Re: Switchblade Identification help INOX

Very nice knife LaneLander 8) The blade could do with a bit of shaping and touching up carefully ,and the horn scales would polish up very well ,but that is owners choice . .Some people leave them be .My picklock example needed some blade work ,and the top scale had been pryed off when I got it ,the...

I really like the look of it ,looks razor sharp .ATS34 steel with a hawksbill blade .
Wonder if its purpose was for cutting parachute lines or seatbelts etc ?
I have never seen them posted here so thanks for the look ,definitely different to the norm .
